I won’t lie: Trump running neck-and-neck in the polls with Harris is disturbing. There are millions of people planning to vote again for a wannabe dictator. ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ 314 Action Fund is the only national organization working to train, recruit, support, and elect Democrats with STEM and medical backgrounds to office at all levels of government. There are millions of people planning to vote again for a wannabe dictator. But I have seen firsthand that our democracy is facing a bigger crisis than Trump. I think the biggest problem we’re facing in our political system is hopelessness. Hopelessness is exactly what empowered Trump to win in 2016. And if we don’t address it now, it could help usher him into the White House again in November. That’s why the work we’re doing at Leaders We Deserve is so essential. By supporting young, bold progressives running for office across the country, we are giving the younger generations hope for the future — and a reason to vote. [We’ve got an important fundraising deadline coming up at MIDNIGHT and we need this team’s help to reach our $12,000 fundraising goal before the clock runs out. Chip in $10 to be split between our work at Leaders We Deserve and 314 Action's efforts to elect bold, progressive leaders ]( The candidates we’re supporting — from Nate Douglas in Orlando, Florida to Anna Thomas in Pennsylvania (backed by 314 Action) — are the answer to hopelessness. Our candidates aren’t afraid to stand up and fight for our values on the issues that matter most to young people, like reducing gun violence, addressing the climate crisis with meaningful solutions, and defending the right to an abortion. And they are doing more than just keeping the GOP at bay. They are charting a path of progress in our state legislatures and building a bench of young leaders who will undoubtedly make a mark on the national stage in the future. Think about this: One of our candidates could very well be running for President one day! We are giving voters a reason to believe that participating in our elections is worth it when they see candidates who look and think like they do running for office, candidates who share their unique lived experiences and forward-thinking vision. And we’re electing the next generation of leaders everywhere, all across the country, because we know that no single person is coming to save us. Our representatives in the State House are just as important as who is in the White House. We have to elect like-minded leaders at every level who will work with us to ensure a better future. And that’s why we’re so committed to this work. I understand the concern for our democracy, but I am convinced that supporting progressive candidates from the younger generation is one of our best weapons in the fight to save it. We can only defeat hopelessness with a reason for hope. [Donate $10 or whatever amount feels right, split between Leaders We Deserve and 314 Action. I know we can hit this $12,000 fundraising goal by midnight with the support of this awesome team.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be immediately processed and split between Leaders We Deserve and 314 Action Fund. Since 2017, we’ve supported more than 500+ candidates and reached millions of swing voters on their behalf with our data-driven messaging campaigns. Our candidates led the charge to flip the House in 2018, the Senate in 2021, and a handful of state legislatures in 2022. Now, there are more scientists in office than at any point in U.S. history. No one is better equipped to craft policy to address pressing issues like gun violence, climate change, healthcare reform, or restoring reproductive rights than scientific professionals. Recent polling confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters – Meaning our candidates are better positioned to win tough races and can cut through the partisan divide! 100% of our work is powered by individual donations and our average donation is just $19. We plan on supporting more Democratic scientists and medical professionals in virtually every state this election cycle than at any point in our history. With you by our side, we’ll defend our Senate majority, retake the House, keep the White House blue, and elect a historic wave of Democrats to state legislatures and local office.
