We won this race by 1600 votes in what was the second closest House race won by a Democrat in 2022.

We won this race by 1600 votes in what was the second closest House race won by a Democrat in 2022. I’ll need your help to win again.͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ 314 Action Fund is the only national organization working to train, recruit, support, and elect Democrats with STEM and medical backgrounds to office at all levels of government. But I had a few minutes and wanted to personally update you on my race: [Before then, however, I wanted to ask if you would donate ahead of my midnight deadline so my team has the resources we need to continue reaching voters in this swing district.]( In 2022, Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight gave us less than a 10% chance of winning this newly created House district in the final week before the election. I was a first-time candidate for Congress, multiple polls had us trailing our Republican opponent, and election experts rated our race as favoring Republicans. But I never lost hope. I gave 110%, worked day and night to make my case to voters, and so did my incredible team. And we defied the odds: We won this race by 1,600 votes in what was the second closest House race won by a Democrat of the entire election cycle. In doing so, we made history. I became only the second pro-choice woman doctor in Congress and one of four medical doctors in the Democratic caucus. But I didn’t run to make history: I ran to fight fearlessly on behalf of the people of Colorado’s 8th district (including introducing legislation to protect abortion access and expand capacity for abortion services). I want to build on the progress we’ve achieved, not allow extremism and division to win. But we have our work cut out for us: Multiple polls show our race is tied and many experts say my district now favors Republicans. [I’m no stranger to tough fights, but I’ll need you with me if we’re going to win: That’s why I’m asking if you’ll donate today so we have the resources we need to reach the voters that will decide this race and potentially control of Congress.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be immediately processed and split between 314 Action and Dr. Yadira Caraveo. Since 2017, we’ve supported more than 500+ candidates and reached millions of swing voters on their behalf with our data-driven messaging campaigns. Our candidates led the charge to flip the House in 2018, the Senate in 2021, and a handful of state legislatures in 2022. Now, there are more scientists in office than at any point in U.S. history. No one is better equipped to craft policy to address pressing issues like gun violence, climate change, healthcare reform, or restoring reproductive rights than scientific professionals. Recent polling confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters – Meaning our candidates are better positioned to win tough races and can cut through the partisan divide! 100% of our work is powered by individual donations and our average donation is just $19. We plan on supporting more Democratic scientists and medical professionals in virtually every state this election cycle than at any point in our history. With you by our side, we’ll defend our Senate majority, retake the House, keep the White House blue, and elect a historic wave of Democrats to state legislatures and local office.
