Channels TV loses staff in Shiites, Police clash

Precious Owolabi, a staff of Channels TV was one of the casualties in the violent confrontation between the Police and Shiites movement in Abuja on Monday, July 22nd. Owolabi died of wounds sustained in the cross-fire between the Shiites and the Police. He was a a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member posted to the station.
Channels TV confirmed the development yesterday.

Buhari to proscribe Shiites movement
According to Presidency sources, President Muhammadu Buhari is considering the proscription of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) also known as Shiites.
The proscription, which is likely to come in the form of an executive order, is expected to be made public before Wednesday, July 24.
