â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â Ones to Watch 2024 British Journal of Photography is delighted to announce the 2024 Ones to Watch issue, featuring 15 international artists who epitomise the talent and creativity within lens-based practice today.â This special magazine is the culmination of an exhaustive nomination process in which photography experts including Simon Baker, Bindi Vora, Charlotte Cotton and Myriam Boulos submitted hundreds of worthy image-makers. The 15 selected are each profiled and have their work published in this issue, the 13th iteration of Ones to Watch. Nominees from previous years include Salih Basheer, Rehab Eldalil and Micaiah Carter.â  Our 2024 Ones to Watch are: â Ibrahim Azab Teva Cosic Imane Djamil Sènami Donoumassou Saad Eltinay Devashish Gaur My-Lan Hoang-Thuy Vuyo Mabheka MichaÅ MaliÅski Karice Mitchell Hashim Nasr Bandia Ribeira Farhana Satu Rafael Soldi Varvara Uhlik The magazine cover is an image from MichaÅ MaliÅskiâs series Vita Aeterna, in which the Polish artist explores his grandmotherâs interest in alternative medicines. This issue also features our regular Agenda and Intelligence sections, in which we preview the most exciting exhibitions â including Les Rencontres dâArles and The Real Thing at The Met â and interrogate current trends in photography and its changing institutions.
